Swiss Skeli and La Catrina by Arch of Constantine, Rome
Swiss Skeli Adventure N° 197
Swiss Skeli and La Catrina are just so thrilled with Rome, but will be wrapping it up this week. Here we see our couple by the “Arch of Constantine”. This is one of the most modern triumphal arches built in ancient Rome. It was made from pieces of previous buildings and is comprised of three arches. It is 21 meters high and 25 meters wide.
According to the Encyclopedia Britannica it is one of „three triumphal arches that have survived: the Arch of Titus (ad 81), with relief sculpture of his triumph over Jerusalem; the Arch of Septimius Severus (203–205), commemorating his victory over the Parthians; and the Arch of Constantine (312), a composite product, decorated with reused material from the times of Domitian, Trajan, and Hadrian.
This postcard is from around the 1970’s. Published: March 22, 2022.
Material
All cards mounted on white 250 g/m² paper with trimmed edges. Vintage postcard, overpainted with acrylic paint, no frame. Signed and dated in pencil on back. This can be easily erased in the event you want to use the card.
The cards are packaged in cellophane with an informative text about the history of the image on each card and when it was first published.
Please note that since these are antique postcards, some might contain small tears, pinholes and/or scratches. Fleshy tries her best to lovingly craft each card, but sometimes a tear might be too close to the overall subject to cut it out. The actual colors might differ slightly from your monitor.
Every postcard is a small, unique work of art!
Delivery throughout Europe and overseas is with normal postal mail in cardboard envelopes so nothing should bend. Postage and packaging are calculated at checkout.
