Swiss Skeli in the Bernese Parliament Building’s Wandelhalle
Swiss Skeli in the Parliament Building’s “Wandelhalle”.
According to the tourist brochure of the Parliament House, the so called Wandelhalle (seen here) “is 44 meters long and creates an impression of depth with its arched shape. In this hall, all the politicians meet and discuss business during the sessions, as well as give interviews and receive lobbyists. In addition, this hall also serves representative purposes. For example, state receptions of the Federal Council and the New Year's reception of the Federal Presidents are held here. The ceiling paintings are the work of the Ticino artist Antonio Barzaghi-Cattaneo.
This postcard is from around 1900. Published April 15, 2023.
